When it is picked
A south Indian calendar with no true dormancy: the bushes crop through most of the year against two monsoons rather than in flushes, so the picking round is continuous and the interest is in how even it is rather than in a peak. The cooler months give slower-grown leaf that the orthodox and speciality manufacture favours, which is where the district's non-commodity output comes from.
