Standard kettle vs gooseneck kettle
An ordinary kettle boils and stops; a gooseneck delivers a slow aimable stream. Only one of those is about temperature, and a drinker buying a gooseneck to solve a temperature problem has bought the wrong instrument.

Gooseneck kettles are marketed into tea from filter coffee, where the pour genuinely is the technique. In tea the pour matters in a narrower set of cases, and the spout shape is often assumed to imply temperature control it does not provide.

The short answer
Pour control and temperature control are separate properties frequently sold together, and a drinker who cannot brew green tea reliably needs the second, not the first. The honest ordering is a thermometer or a controlled kettle before a gooseneck, unless the daily practice is gongfu.
